Asgard, in Norse mythology is one of the nine worlds and is the homeland of the Aesir, (the race of warrior gods) located on the highest level of the Norse universe.

Also found on this level of the Norse universe are the worlds of Alfheim and Vanaheim as well as Valhalla, an immense hall where warriors slain in battle await the final conflict.
Ragnarok.

Asgard is said to be the most beautiful of the norse realms where the flowery landscape remains in that sweet scented season (when spring is about to turn to summer) at all times. It's fields resemble smooth green lawns and it's forests are home to bountiful deer and song birds.

This is where Odin sits on his throne at High Nest in Valhalla and surveys all those in his domains.

In the middle of Asgard lies the plain of Idavoll (or Ida) where the Aesir meet to decide important issues. There the gods assemble in the hall of Gladsheim and the goddesses in the hall of Vingolf.

Well I did my research into this piece as I have always been fasinated by Norse mythology and I wanted to depict in my own simple manner, the beauty of Asgard.

I have tried to put other things in such as planets but it left the piece a bit full and I liked this just as it is. I know there will be a mention of the gradient lines near the sunset, but unfortunatley i cannot be rid of them!
